Museum vita artigiana e contadina of Leprino

Museum vita artigiana e contadina of LeprinoThe Museum vita artigiana e contadina of Leprino is located in Sant’Agata and was realized by Mr. Faliero Lepri, better known as Leprino. It is a museum consisting of 65 characters on the move that tell the craftsmanship of Scarperia and Mugello. The characters, about 70 cm high, are made with papier-mâché  and  clothes in cloth. Leprino began to make these characters for pastime, he did not imagine that he had built a museum. Leprino was the owner of a grocery store and so for Christmas and various festivals he enjoyed displaying his animated characters. The first work was “the eve” where he represented his family in a homecoming scene. Characters are not fantasy but they are real people. The following scenes are played in the exhibition:

  • Carpenter
  • Blacksmith
  • Manufacturer of baskets
  • The eve
  • Courier service
  • Emporium
  • Traveler
  • Tailor
  • Barber
  • Wine Bar
  • Square with knife-grinder, Tinsmith, umbrella seller
