On Sundays 8,15,22,29 of October in the town of Palazzuolo sul Senio is celebrated the “Festival of chestnut and the fruits of the undergrowth – Live the Autumn”.
On the occasion of Palazzuolo sul Senio chestnut festival the center of the municipality (typical medieval village) is populated with bancherelle with various products of the fruits of the undergrowth and chestnuts. Specifically, the show market will take place in Piazza IV Novembre and Viale Ubaldini from 11 a.m.
The protagonist of this show-market is undoubtedly the local chestnut of Palazzuolo, this year is particularly awesome and sweet. The chestnut this year is not characterized by its quantity but its quality. An excellent chestnut flour is already being produced in the coming months. Among the booths you can taste the Cake, the Castagnaccio, Tortellini, desserts and this year’s news are gnocchi and meat. You can also savor chestnuts and vin brulé. In addition to the main product you can also find mushrooms, truffles and fruits of the undergrowth. These can be purchased and tasted either as they are found in nature that are processed.

SUNDAYS OF RECORD
As far as the last Sundays (October 8 and 15) is concerned, it has been an all exhausted. Especially thanks to the “spring” climate and the splendid sun warming the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, the country was completely invaded and the banquets at the Palazzuolo chestnut festival had exhausted all the products in the middle of the afternoon. Palazzuolo sul Senio chestnut festival has registrated record numbers. The catering managed by the Pro Loco has also been put to the hard test.
INITIATIVES DURING PALAZZUOLO SUL SENIO CHESTNUT FESTIVAL
At the same time the Palazzuolo sul Senio chestnut festival is present at the Church of S. Antonio in Palazzuolo the exhibition of Gianmaria Cavini “Oltre Natura – Dalla natura, equilibri, tensioni e proporzioni”. The exhibition is open from 8 to 29 October 2017.
